Description

The Pearl OD-05 Overdrive is a compact pedal that uses a JFET-based circuit to produce a warm, tube-like overdrive character. Its Drive control sets the amount of gain, from a mild boost to a saturated crunch, while the Tone control shapes the high-frequency response, allowing for darker or brighter output. The Level control adjusts the overall output volume, which can be used to boost the front of an amplifier even at low drive settings. The pedal features a true bypass footswitch that completely removes the effect from the signal path when disengaged, preserving the original guitar tone. It operates on a standard 9V DC power supply, with no battery compartment, and is housed in a durable metal chassis. The simple three-knob layout makes it straightforward to dial in a range of overdrive tones suitable for various playing styles.
