Description

The MXR Analog Delay 118 uses a bucket-brigade chip to create its delay repeats, with a Delay Time control that sets the spacing between the original signal and the echoes. The Regen control adjusts the amount of delayed signal fed back into the input, determining how many repeats occur before they fade out; turning it up increases the number of repeats and can lead to self-oscillation at extreme settings. The Mix control blends the dry, unaffected guitar signal with the delayed signal, allowing for anything from a subtle doubling effect to a pronounced echo. The pedal features a single mono input and output, and it is powered by a standard 9-volt battery or an optional DC adapter. Its analog circuitry imparts a warm, slightly dark character to the repeats, which is inherent to the bucket-brigade design rather than a user-adjustable parameter.
