Description

The Mu-Tron III is an optical phaser whose sweep is driven by a built-in envelope follower rather than a fixed-rate LFO. Its sensitivity control sets how strongly the input signal's amplitude triggers the filter sweep, while the range control adjusts the depth and width of the phasing effect. The phaser's characteristic notched, sweeping tone is produced by a series of phase-shift stages that are modulated by the envelope, creating a dynamic response that follows picking dynamics and note attack. The pedal includes a bypass switch to engage or disengage the effect, and it operates on standard AC power via a connected power cord. Its distinctive optical circuitry and envelope-controlled behavior make it responsive to playing intensity, with louder or harder-picked notes causing a more pronounced sweep through the frequency spectrum.
