Description

The Maxon Sonic Distortion SD-01 is a distortion pedal that uses a dual-stage gain circuit to produce a thick, saturated distortion character. Its Drive control sets the amount of gain applied to the input signal, ranging from a mild crunch to a high-gain roar, while the Tone control shapes the high-frequency response, allowing the user to brighten or darken the output. The Level control adjusts the overall output volume, which can be used to boost or cut the signal relative to the bypassed level. The pedal features a true bypass switching system, ensuring that when the effect is disengaged, the guitar signal passes through unaltered. It operates on a standard 9V DC power supply, with a red LED indicator showing when the effect is active.
