Maxon Delay DD-01

Description

The Maxon DD-01 is an analog delay pedal that uses a bucket-brigade device (BBD) chip to produce its echo effect. Its Delay Time control sets the spacing between the original signal and the repeats, ranging from short slapback to longer echoes. The Feedback control determines how many times the delayed signal repeats, with higher settings creating more sustained, cascading echoes that can self-oscillate at extreme positions. The Delay Level (or Mix) control blends the dry signal with the effected delay output, allowing for subtle doubling or pronounced repeats. The pedal features a straightforward layout with three knobs and a footswitch for true bypass, ensuring the dry signal remains uncolored when the effect is off. It operates on a standard 9V DC power supply, with no battery compartment, and includes an LED indicator to show when the effect is engaged. The DD-01 is housed in a compact, durable metal chassis, making it suitable for pedalboards.
