Description

The Fryer Mayhem overdrive pedal uses a dual-gain architecture where a pre-gain stage feeds a second gain stage, allowing the two drive controls to interact: the first sets the initial breakup and the second pushes the signal further into saturation, so raising both progressively compresses the note attack and thickens the sustain. A three-band EQ—bass, middle, and treble—shapes the tone before the output stage, with the middle control particularly affecting how the pedal sits against a mix. A master volume sets the overall output level, which can be set above unity to boost an amplifier's front end even when the drive is low. The pedal is housed in a compact metal enclosure with a true-bypass footswitch that routes the input directly to the output when disengaged, preserving the unaffected guitar signal.
