Ampeg Distortion A-1

Description

The Ampeg A-1 Distortion pedal uses a single control to set the amount of distortion, from a mild crunch to a heavily saturated fuzz-like tone. Its circuit is based on the distortion section of the Ampeg VH-140C amplifier, giving it a distinct character that responds to the input level from the guitar. The pedal has a true bypass footswitch that routes the signal directly to the output when disengaged, preserving the clean tone. It operates on a standard 9-volt battery or an optional DC power supply, with the input and output jacks located on the top edge for easy pedalboard placement.
