Analog spring reverb plus filtering and more
The Vermona Retroverb unifies the classic spring reverb sound with a voltage controlled amplifier (VCA) and filter all in one classy wooden paneled housing. This unique combination brings the user a highly flexible and versatile effect, that one will rarely find in other electro - mechanical devices.
The Retroverb is built around an Accutronics spring reverb unit. It uses actual springs inside the housing (yeah, you can hear them bouncing around in there sometimes!) and produces a rich, full reverb effect with a unique character.
The input section on the Retroverb allows you to select one of four modes or to bypass the effect. The modes allow you to choose whether to use the spring reverb or not and give you the option to reverse the phase of the right output for crazy reverse reverb effects.
Next is the equalizer section. You can raise or lower bass and high frequencies by 15dB.
The signal then runs through the VCF / VCA section. The section uses a resonant 12dB-low pass filter. To add some movement into the game, the cutoff frequency can be modulated by the integrated envelope generator, or by an external foot-pedal or other voltage controlled source.
Lastly, the signal is fed into the envelope generator section. This section adds some highly dynamic movement to your audio signal with the attack and decay envelope generator which can be triggered in different ways.
A special and unique feature is the crash function. You can safely achieve the popular 'Thunder-Effect' produced when a guitar combo fitted with a spring reverb is kicked. With the Retroverb one gets the effect without any physical pain, very simply by a button press, foot-switch, CV gate or audio-trigger.
In summary, the Retroverb is a mind-blowing unique effect!
