Description
The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 is an overdrive distortion box that gives you smooth distortion typical of the sounds of the mid-seventies.
You can use it to boost your signal and you can fade the distortion in from clean to complete chaos.
Unlike other distortion pedals, when the gain is all the way off you can still hear the signal.
This particular DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 has quite a lot of paint chips. It's the original 'vinatge' model from the early 80s.
The potentiometers were made around November 1980, so this pedal is more than likely from 1981. The main op-amp chip is a Texas Instruments TL081 made in Malaysia.
It does have a couple of modifications. First, a bright blue LED has been added to indicate whether or not the pedal is engaged.
Also, the original switch has been replaced with a 3PDT switch to provide true-bypass and to switch the LED on and off.
